Red Raiders News · Esswein wins hockey Sauer Award

Senior Parker Esswein won the Jeff Sauer Award from the Coach Sauer Foundation.  He was announced as the winner last night in Madison at the Wisconsin High School Hockey Coaches Association dinner.  The award was presented by Tony Granato, the University of Wisconsin men’s hockey coach.

Esswein is a member of the co-op boys hockey team (Brookfield Stars), where he was the captain this past season.  He was a finalist along with three other nominees, the award aims to encourage community service among girls and boys high school hockey players in Wisconsin.  It is the second year of the award, named in honor for legendary UW coach Jeff Sauer.
