ATHLETES OF THE MONTH – Dallas & Meulemans

At the end of each month, the head varsity coaches of teams that are competing will nominate an athlete from their respective sport to the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee(SAAC). At the next monthly meeting, the SAAC representatives will vote for one male and one female athlete of the month. The athlete of the month will be an individual who had great performances and/or success in their respective sport for that month.

Alexis Dallas – Girls Basketball

January moved Alexis Dallas into a new role due to an injury on the team.  She assumed the point guard position for the team, leading the offensive attack and establishing the defense stops.  Statistically in January, two games were high points for her, scoring 10 points against top conference contender Brookfield Central.  Against cross town rival Tosa West, Dallas had 8 points and 8 rebounds to end the month out.

Ben Meulemans – Boys Swim/Dive

The Tosa swim and dive team had Meulemans break a few records in the month of January.  Meulemens broke both the co-op Hurricane and the Tosa East records in three swimming events.  In the 100 butterfly he swam 51.64,  in the 50 freestyle his time was 21.28, and in the 100 backstroke he swam 52.13.  He was also close to breaking the 100 freestyle record, he was off by just .28 seconds in his January swim meets.
