The Girls JV Track and Field team Won the Conference Meet this past weekend, taking down Brookfield East by 5.5 points! The Raiders scored 181.5 points to Brookfield East’s 176.
With the accumulation of all their hard work, the ladies put together a great meet and really shined when the pressure was on.

Head Coach Ryan Losinski was asked how he felt with the win. “Seeing the progress these ladies have made, not just this year, but starting from last year, has been great. They have started to realize the potential they have and have built some confidence along the way!” Losinski explains. “This win will show them that that hard work does pay off! Our coaches have done a wonderful job getting the athletes in the correct events and primed for competition.”

Leading off the day was our 4x800m that placed 2nd. The team consisted of Malia Bavuso, Ginger Wrensch, Eileen Li, and Aydan Peterson.
Next on the track was another 2nd place finish. Freshman Justine Catlett ran her best time of the year in the 100m hurdles of 19.30 seconds, bringing home the silver.

Our first win of the day was in the 100m dash. Sophomore Benica Grose ran a PR of 13.69 seconds to take first. Her teammates ran very well right behind her as well, Sophomore Keara Rappold took 3rd and Freshman Ava Besenstein took 4th.

The distance girls were ready to rock and run! They finished 1st, 5th and 7th in the 1600m run! Sophomore Olivia Bowser took home 1st with a PR run, followed by Junior Nastia Roeder and Sophomore Melis Kaplan.

Bringing home another 1st place for the Raiders was the 4x200m relay team. Consisting of Junior Rachel Heck, Sophomore Anna Perez, Freshman Grace Biebel, and Junior Jazmyn Williams, all four ladies ran exceptional with a time just over 2 minutes flat!

Excited about their teammates win in the relay. Sophomore’s Sarah Mackenzie and Nicole Finco tag teamed the 400m dash. Taking 1st and 2nd by over a second to the next competitor, Mackenzie just out leaned Finco for the win. They both ran personal best races!

Justine Catlett brought home her second silver of the day in the 300m hurdles. Catlett ran another PR with a time of 53.94 seconds! Her teammate, Sophomore Sadie Michaelis, were right on her heals placing 4th with a time of 54.23 seconds.

In the 800m, Sophomore Aydan Peterson took home 1st place. Aydan has been running great all year and showed it once again running a personal best time of 2:41.73, while winning the open 800m.

Rounding out her day, Benica Grose sped to another 1st place in the open 200m dash. Breaking her PR, Grose has consistently been bringing her times down over the course of the season. Grose finished with two 1st place finishes and one 8th place finish.
The second race of the day where Nicole Finco was just a shadow behind one of her teammates. Finco finished 3rd in the 200m, running herself to another PR as well.

The 3200m runners brought some good points to the team as well. Sophomore Melis Kaplan finished 3rd with a personal best time. Eileen Li also finished with a PR time finishing 7th.

Junior Erin Lindemann placed 3rd in the pole vault. And finishing our day with a first place was the 4x400m relay team of Sarah Mackenzie, Anna Perez, Nastia Roeder, and Olivia Bowser.

Congratulations ladies! A season well done. It’s not totally over yet as some of these athletes will make our Regional team which if good enough could qualify for the State meet in La Crosse, June 1 and 2nd!
