Wauwatosa East High School 2nd 64

The Red Raiders scored 64 points to place 2nd to Whitefish Bay’s 43 at the 2018 Purgold Invite hosted by Cudahy at Sheridan Park.

It was a record day for the team with 5 of the 8 runners turning in PRs. Henry Wellenstein led the team with a PR 16:05 for 2nd place and improved his ranking to #10 All-Time for Tosa East. Arthur Wellenstein placed 8th with a PR 17:00 and now hold the freshmen school record. The previous record of 17:09 was set by Sam Potter in 2012.

Max Finco ran a season best 17:09 for 15th place, Grant Heus PR’d by 55 seconds to finish 19th in 17:27, and Nate Blischke ran a season best 17:33 for 20th place.

Liam Nicol also ran a PR 17:35 for 21st place, Steven Koss ran a PR 19:26 for 41st, and Ryan Morita finished 64th in 19:25.

The weather certainly helped with the performances, but the boys stepped up this week and made significant improvements to get us closer to our team goals for the season.
